On the weapons front, players will be able to use a Florian thorn hammer, Florian needles, hand grenades, pulse rifles and shivs. New game modes will add permadeath and 'drop-everything-on-death' to Starbound.
An upcoming patch for Starbound, Chucklefish Games' self-described 'extraterrestrial sandbox adventure,' will add new game modes, weapons and fancy headwear, according to a post on the game's official site.
